4 week old baby

I went to pick my 3 year old up from nursery and had my 4 week old baby girl with me in her car seat which i was carrying. As I gathered my 3 year olds stuff there was no one about so didn’t think I needed to be cautious of other children around my baby but as I turned round a little boy had run over and put his dirty fingers in her mouth!! I was holding her car seat and noticed almost immediately but I can’t believe it happened. I’m so careful with hygiene around new babies, especially my own (I.e always wash hands/hand gel, ask others to use hand gel etc). I get they need to build up their immune systems but at 4 weeks old, she’s still so new. I’m so annoyed at myself and terrified she is going to get sick 😭😭 I know nothing can be done now, as it’s done so don’t really know what I’m looking for other to express my worry 😢

Your own toddler will 1000000% do this to their sibling
its icky but unless they’ve rolled their hands in dog poop they’re unlikely to get ill
i get why it’s made you anxious but it’s done now and am sure baby will be fine

You have a toddler who is effectively a walking germ so at some stage your newborn is going to get unwell. I'm amazed it's not happened yet to be honest.

Yes it's unfortunate that this child put his hands in her mouth but honestly the likelihood of her getting ill from that is so much less than it is by her having an older sibling, especially one at nursery.
