Hi, my little boy had it off and on for like a 3 months period when he was 3yrs old. It came on very suddenly and of course we went to a&e, diagnosed as irritable hip and told it would resolve within a few days. It lasted about a week and then about a fortnight later was back again! Went to GP this time who claimed it was normal for it to come and go, it went on like this as I say for 3 months - some days completely gone, other days mild, other days totally unable to bear weight on it. After that 3 month period during which I was very worried, it disappeared and never returned, he's now 9.
