Abnormal ECG?

DD10 is starting on some medication and the consultant requested an ECG, I assume as a baseline. It has come back with the attached interpretation which has scared me a bit! I am awaiting a GP appointment to discuss but can anyone reassure me? She had a VSD as a baby but GOSH said it had closed after an ultrasound with no follow up required.

Abnormal ECG?

DD had an abnormal ECG as part of pre-op assessments. The anaesthetist didn’t want to go ahead with surgery until a cardiologist had reviewed her as it was quite a major operation. An echocardiogram and a new ECG later the conclusion was that it was all just a blip with the original machine!

The machine interpretation is really unreliable for children, I wouldn't set any store by this at all until it has been properly reviewed. Sorry for the unavoidable stress of waiting.

Sorry no advice but understand your concern my baby had a large VSD which closed spontaneously at 3 months old. Now on wait list to see a cardiologist due to heart murmur picked up at doc appointment when went with a bad cold (she's 2.5 years) as pp mentioned could be machine error. Hope you get answers soon x

Professionals don't rely on the reports from the machine as they are notoriously unreliable. They tend to massively overdiagnose random things.

The only thing it's said that is abnormal is right atrial enlargement which is a ridiculously unlikely diagnosis in a healthy 10 yr old.

The actual report is what your DD's doctor says the ECG says.
