Im a bit worried my daughter started complaining of gas on Sunday and having a sore tummy, Monday morning she had explosive diarrhoea every 20 mins so flushed her system with clear fluids and gave Calpol, this morning she pooped a foul smelling mucus with blood so I panicked rang the doctor and they don't seem worried I took a sample for them to test and she is still very loose not watery but I'm really scared, I've cut dairy out incase it's upsetting her tummy and am waiting the results from the doctor she has been quiet energetic and her appetite isn't phased she is my first child and I worry im overreacting is it normal for diarrhoea to last so this long my husband suggested a kids form of imodium but I think that's dangerous any advise I feel like I'm going out of my mind

Ah try not to worry just sounds like she has a bit of a bug. Keep her hydrated with apple juice, water , ice pops . There isn't a lot a Dr can do to be honest x

weve recently had paediatrics involvement for different bowel issues. The doctor said if diarrhoea lasts 2-3 weeks they might get concerned or with blood like in your experience. Stool sample is the correct next step so just try and wait and see what the results are.
