He looks like he's suddenly developed tiny dark freckles all around his eyes, top of nose and tops of cheeks. Feels fine otherwise.

Did vomit on Saturday night due to alcohol so I had put it down to this and now I'm worried that I might be in negligent parent territory (for ignoring a potential medical issue as well as allowing my 17 year old to drink at a party!)

I would say he has broken the tiny capilleries in his face due to vomiting. How is he otherwise? They may take a few days to go down but if he was otherwise well then I would assume those spots (petechial spots) were caused from the force of him being sick.

Thats what I told him it was when he finally emerged yesterday afternoon but then I was having a sudden flap that I might have been a little dismissive and too quick to put it down to the drinking. He seems otherwise ok.

It's the vomiting. It takes a fair while to go away because it's basically lots of tiny bruises.
