I have noticed today that a rash has appeared under both of my DS armpits, he’s been hot this evening having a temperature of 38.7. I cannot sleep, is this just a rash from scratching or something else?

Petichiae and fever could be signs of meningococcal disease which requires urgent treatment. If this was my child I would bring to nearest ED for assessment. It could be something else entirely but on this information that's what I would do. I hope your child will be ok.

Agreed. The petechiae seem to be localised, but I would still always at least do blood tests on any child with petechiae and fever, due to the risk of meningococcal septicaemia, and have a very low threshold for IV antibiotics. A&E now.

Unwell child + petechial rash = urgent medical attention. My DS used to get petechial rashes a lot when he was small and I always had to take him to A&E for a blood test, even when he was well. I hope he’s ok and it’s something simple as a backpack or t-shirt rubbing his underarms.
