Hi, so my 3 year old has be unwell
Since Sunday (6days) which a high temp, always saying shes cold, diarrhoea and a red throat/white tongue with spots (attached). She's drinking but barely eaten anything. It's been 6 days and I'm still alternating between calpol and ibuprofen constantly as her temp is high (comes down temporarily with medicine) . I took her to out of hours at the hospital 2 Days ago and the nurse advised me it was a throat infection. I mentioned that I was worried about Strep A, due to her white spotty tongue and the fact she's showing basically all the symptoms. She told me that No it's not Strep A and she doesn't have strawberry tongue. I'm questioning this now and going to take her to the doctors tomorrow for a 2nd opinion. What's your thoughts based on the pic/her symptoms described above? When I google strawberry tongue its looks like hers, so I'm confused at the nurses opinion.

Is strep a scarlet fever? That doesn't look like strawberry tongue to me - was redder and more swollen at the tip. She also looks quite chirpy in the pic! However I am not an HCP and you should definitely take her back if you're worried. Don't take my word for it.
