I noticed on thursday last week tha my ds (4) hair looked a bit thin on the side of his head, within 2 days there was a bald patch. There is also a round red outline. Straightaway I thought ringworm, as it was weekend I took him to 2 pharmacists who both said it looked fungal and one gave me some Clotrimazole cream 1%. I have been putting it on 3x a day since saturday and the bald patch has only got bigger and now he is saying its itchy. After consulting dr Google it states that ringworm of the scalp (tinia capitas) is only treatable by oral medication.
I have booked him into drs later today and i am hoping they give him something to stop it.
Has anyone has experience with this? Im worried they will fob me off with more creams when a simple search explains that they don't work on the scalp as it can't go in the hair follicles..
Any advice would be appreciated
