What’s this rash/skin issue?

The doctor is due to call me today to discuss this however I thought I’d jump on here to see if anyone knows what this could be?

My daughter has had this on her hands on and off for a while. We finally got prescribed steroid cream which cleared it but it’s come back.

The small bumps are fluid like blisters and if she scratches they burst and leak.

I thought it might be something along the lines of dermatitis but now I’m worried about a gluten intolerance after seeing online this can cause similar looking rashes. She has had bloating issues in the past and suffers with heartburn now and then, no other symptoms.

Could be dyshidrotic eczema/pompholyx: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/pompholyx/

I get it sometimes on my palms/palm side of my fingers. Hydrocortisone cream helps plus keeping them moisturised. It does come and go and I don't know what causes it.

If you're worried about the other symptoms and gluten intolerance then see GP. Don't cut gluten out of her diet until it's been investigated though.

Pompholyx

Find out about pompholyx (also called dyshidrotic eczema), including what the symptoms are, how it’s treated and what you can do to ease the symptoms.

Thank you. The GP thinks it’s dyshidrotic dermatitis so have been prescribed soap and a nighttime cream. I mentioned the gluten intolerance and although they aren’t ruling out, they want to try this route first.
