My 8 week old has been prescribed omeprazole for reflux. I was surprised the GP went straight to omeprazole and at a high dose (10mg) rather than starting on baby gaviscon and then slowly introducing omeprazole on a lower dose.
My DD weighs around 5kg - do you think going straight to 10mg (dissolved in 5ml water) sounds too much?
Would be great to hear from others whose similarly sized babies were on the same dose! I hate to have to give her so much medicine but I know the reflux isn't going to just go away on its own.
