Raised lump on face

DS has had a sort of raised 'fleshy' pad near the side of his mouth for coming on 4 weeks now, don't suppose anyone would have any ideas what it could be?

He said it does hurt when touched but it's not liquid underneath like a blister or anything.

A pharmacist could only suggest impetigo but said it probably wasn't if it hadn't crusted over at all in that time.

GP won't see him yet but have prescribed a 7 day course of Fucudin which at 4 days in doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Will go back to the GP after the week is up but would appreciate any thoughts.

Is it like a little cyst? It looks like a funnel, as though there is something inside a lump.

Maybe! There's nothing moving under there it is quite solid - does that sound like a cyst?

Have you tried a warm compress on it? I agree, it could be a cyst. I would ask a GP to take a look - does your GP surgery have a nurse who could have a look at it if you can’t see a doctor?
