Hello, looking for some help, I have a 1 year old daughter who is pulling her hair out in chunks, she sucks her thumb and I’ve been told that usually is why but she’s got to the point she has a huge bold patch on her head. She used to have loads of hair and I could put it up into bobbles but now I can’t.
Any tips on how to help stop her pulling her hair?
I’ve tried distraction with toys, mittens on the hand and moving her hand away when she does it.
does anything work out do I just wait for it to stop
TIA

I am a sensory soother (skin picker) and appreciate she is very young but its seems like she may be also. Could you change the sensory feel for her- for instance if I put cream on my skin it ruins my enjoyment of picking it. Maybe a hair gel or other leave in product might put her off?
