Bronchiolitis Help

Had to take baby to A&E last night as he was wheezing, really unsettled and noticed his tummy was sucking under ribs with his breathing. They say its probably Bronchiolitis and if so will get worse before it gets better and I just need to keep an eye on him. Freaking out a bit, what do I need to look out for?? How can I keep him comfortable? Any help appreciated.

Bronchiolitis typically gets worse for about 5 days then improves over the next week or so. Feeding is a good marker of wellness. Less than 50% of normal feeds warrants a review. From a breathing perspective a little sucking in under the ribs is ok but if is getting much more pronounced then again get this reviewed. Pauses in breathing (>10seconds) or going blue - obviously go to A&E.

Look for number of breaths per minute - from memory I think 60 or more is A&E (and over 45 is watch carefully)

Get a pulse oxymeter or check oxygen on an Apple Watch so you can keep an eye on that too. Below 94% is a&e I think.
