Mouth ulcers

Any advice welcome,

My little boy has at least 30 ulcers in his mouth. Seen by gp yesterday possible virus/tonsillitis so he's now on antibiotics.

He's in so much pain, as you can imagine and I don't know what else I can do for him. He's not eating and it's a struggle to get him to drink. He's having calpol and nurofen when he is allowed as well as using the anbesol liquid.

Does anyone have any advice what else we could try for pain relief or if anyone has seen this before did it take long to clear up?

My son had a mouth full of ulcers when he had hand foot and mouth. Other than a temp, It was his only symptom. I only know it was that because my daughter had it with the spots.
