Can you tell if a baby used to have tongue tie?

My one year old and I were in the shops and the lady at the till said "Ohh, she's got tongue tie". I said something like, "she did When she was born but we've had it snipped." When DC was about 10 days old we had her tongue tie snipped by a midwife specialising in it. Since then she's been eating and drinking fine (and putting weight on well).

My question is, could it be that it wasn't snipped properly? Or, if a baby has tongue tie and the tie has been snipped, can you still tell that that baby once had tongue tie?

Nobody has mentioned anything in all the medical visits we've had and trips to GP etc. DC says a few odd words but not enough to know if tongue tie is impacting her speech.

Thanks in advance! x

I would not over-index on "weird things the ladies on supermarket checkout say". Lucky guess (a near miss, in fact) I reckon.
