8 month old - blood test

My 8 month old is having a blood test in a few days. I’m going to buy emla cream as I’m worried about her screaming with the needles (not saying she won’t, but I’m needle phobic so if I can reduce the pain I’m keen to try).

Where will they do the blood test for her - hands, elbows?

Depends where her veins are. Have you spoken to the department that'll be doing the bloods? - they often have advice either online/by phone about preparing kids for blood tests.
