Has anyone used Wartner- pain?

Hi,
We have started treating DS's veruca with this wartner- stick thing that you just place on veruca for 10 seconds. First time, absolutely no problem, tonight his reaction to this has been like he's having his foot amputated or something; screaming and shouting and lots of crying. He has autism and sometimes will scream, 'Help!' and shout/ scream over small injuries/ grazes/ anything that feels uncomfortable. The reaction to this was so extreme and upsetting tonight I am just wondering if anyone has used it as an adult and can tell me what it feels like? I ended up giving him Calpol as he was saying how bad it felt... Does it actually sting or itch or hurt?
Thanks

It’s basically giving him frostbite in order to kill the wart, so yes it does sting quite a bit!

I haven’t found the pain of the DIY one that bad and my children have also had it done by a medical professional. It’s more of a deep dull ache for a couple of seconds than a sharp stab or sting. I suppose everyone varies though. The only thing I would say is sometimes it causes a small swelling / blister under the verruca which is part of what seems to work if it’s going to - pressing down on that (via pressing on the verruca) is really painful so it’s possible the first treatment did that and the second one is putting pressure on it.
