Child yelling out in pain

Is it usual for a child to yell out if they bump themselves or lean on something hard? DS age seven keeps doing this on and off and has over the past few weeks

How old is the child?

I know adults who do it presumably for attention.

@Unintentionallycausingoffence do you not exclaim when you bang into something? Or is it more exaggerated?

My son is the same-I see it as over dramatic 😂
