Newborn exposed to covid

Hi all,

I am panicking and would appreciate your thoughts.

DD3 is just 12 days old. 2 days ago, we went to my DPs house for brunch. Everyone seemed well… then tonight DF has tested positive for covid. DM currently clear. Not sure how bad his symptoms are but he must have felt rough to suddenly take a Covid test.

I am so worried. My DF was holding my newborn for about 15 minutes 2 days ago. I don’t think he kissed her or got overly close to her face but I know that doesn’t really matter.

I am EBF so hoping that helps baby’s immune system.

Anyone had experience of a newborn coming into contact with covid and not getting any infection?

thanks

Most newborns are exposed to infections. Don't worry.

I'm sure your LO will be fine. You'll probably be producing antibodies which you'll pass on Wink

Thank you @CadyEastman and @MumChp xxx

She will almost certainly be getting antibodies through your breast milk. She'll be fine.
