Question about skull bone

Hello

Sorry in advance if in hopeless at explaining but my 15 month DD has a lump on back of head pea sized, behind ears a little further up, looks from the internet to be occipital area, at first we thought it was a lymph node but having seen where the 3 lymph nodes are in that area occipital, I felt all 3 and mobile. This lump feels more bony but there is a lump a lot smaller on other side which is why I've come to conclusion it must be bone, we are going to walk in clinic drs Wednesday as no sooner appointments want to get it looked at etc just wondered has anyone else had little ones with more prominent bones on the head, I am trying not to worry as that doesn't help! I'm sure it's only come up recently as I'm always stroking her hair and never felt it before

Thank you

Skulls have all sorts of lumps and bumps and peculiarities.

Good idea to get it checked but I wouldn't waste time worrying in the meanwhile.

Hi, non advice sorry but just wanted to say I am in exact same position. I’m waiting on an ultrasound for my 4 month old baby.. noticed two occipital lymph nodes when she was 8 weeks and have never gone down.. feel slightly bigger now but I would still say pea sized. However right in the middle of the back of her skull has also changed.. almost feels like a pointy bone (if that makes sense) which we are also getting scanned. Doctor said most likely structural changes to the skull but with the lump nodes either side of this sticky out “bone” / lump - I’m freaking out! Does this sound similar? Have you seen doctor yet? X

@Chronicworrier23 did you get any answers for this? Or did anyone else, OP? I’ve noticed 2 lumps in my babies head (moveable pea sized) and not really getting anywhere with my GP. Noticed them around week 11 and she’s 13 weeks now. I’m so worried about them. Sounds like lymph nodes but I don’t know if they’re normal size and why I can feel them so much. My other friends with babies said they didn’t notice any on theirs.

Hi, yes had them scanned and everything was fine and I’ve since spoken to tons of mums who are the same. Pea size is fine, just keep an eye on them to make sure they get no bigger. My little one is 7.5 months and still has them. She is perfect x
