Chicken pox

Doctor confirmed my daughter has chicken pox yesterday. She woke up with 5/6 spots all filled with puss and it’s rife in her nursery.

he said the next 24 hours will determine how bad it’ll be, is this true? She’s woke up this morning with no more. I was expecting her to be covered.

did anyone else have an experience with mild pox or is it just a waiting game for no? No temp or other symptoms

DS 18 said to me last Saturday, what are these weird spots on my forehead. 48 hours later he was smothered and has only just started to feel better today. He's quite a sight to behold but it's now drying out.
I hear it's everywhere at the moment

Definitely the case for both of mine that the first day or two a/set the scene. DS had a couple, then next day they'd spread but not loads. But for DD a few weeks later I have photos charting the progression over about 6 hours where they just bubbled up everywhere (to the extent that she was admitted into hospital as the pharmacist sent us to the GP who was really worried it was eczema herpeticum instead as it was so horrific...).

Oat baths and loose clothing seemed to help. Fingers crossed it passes quickly!

@Rabbitsarebraver how is your little one? My DS started with 5 on Thursday morning. Then a couple more on Friday and then yesterday they just erupted with even more coming out today. Wasn't unwell prior to Thursday. Very slight temp Thursday/Friday/Saturday of 37.6 that came down on its own. Today has had a temp of 38 and just miserable in general 😢 had a rough night last night with itchiness. Hoping he's better tonight

@jabaa luckily she got off really lightly, only about 50 in total and seemed to be absolutely no itching?! We also had no other side effects or temp. Bless him, it’s hard but it will soon pass. I found all the new pox treatments didn’t help but good old fashioned camomile lotion dried them up really well. Hope he feels better soon x
