My 2 year daughter got into her first scrape at the day care 2 weeks back (she is headstrong as hell), and she got scratched by the other kid's nail just under the eye. Luckily nothing with the eye itself (or the other kid), but I expected the wound to go away with no problems as it was just the finger nail.
I looked this morning and the wound looks still red around center, but the center of the line has started to turn white. It's not her first scratch, she already has some small but noticeable scars on her leg from a minor fall last year where the top layer got skinned minorly.
I feel like I screwed up, because last time we didn't pay it much attention (we assumed it was nothing), and this time I tried to keep it well hydrated and protected, but I guess I used the wrong cream (i added a hydration cream and then also sunscreen before going into the sun....) or at the wrong time, because I think I caused the scab to come off way too early.
Is there anything I can still do at this point to prevent a finalized scar from forming?
The first image is from just after the scrab fell off 1 week ago and the 2nd is from today. The 2nd doesn't show it very well, I'm afraid. It's more noticeable in person (though admittingly the white part is very thin).
I assume it will be nothing long term, but it makes me nervous given that it's her face, so I want to make sure I do the right thing.
Thanks!
