9month old with croup - blue tinge toes and weird breathing?

My girl got mis diagnosed by the doctors Wednesday saying it was a chest infection, we went to a&e after a terrible cough choking episode and inconsolable.
They said it was coup so she had the oral steroid shot.
Today I've noticed after a nap her toes looked blue/grey/purple? And her breathing around tje ribs went a bit weird too. She's very raspy when she breathes, you can feel it when you feel her chest.
She's happy still, with ups and downs through tje day of grumpiness. She's been a tired girl sleeping a lot.
Any advice? I'm a bit lost what to think? I tried to screen shot the video to show the way she breaths around her ribs. It's nothing severe.

I'd take her back to the A&E if I were you. A baby with breathing issues always needs to be seen.

Please take her back to hospital. If she’s breathing in to her ribs and her toes are blue she might not be getting enough oxygen.

are her lips blue? Is she flaring her nostrils? Pulling in at the base of her neck when she’s breathing?

I’d also be taking her back to A&E. Hopefully all fine but absolutely worth getting checked

ForensicFlossy · 26/04/2024 12:24

Please go straight to A&E, she needs to be seen.

Paediatric nurse here. She's got subcostal recession. Back to A&E asap.

How is she?

UndeadDollx · 01/05/2024 18:23

Hi all, sorry for a late update I've been sick also myself, we went to a&e and she got obs for a couple hours and her oxygen levels were absolutely fine, they were happy enough to send her home that day! She's been up and down since and still has a cough bless her, but she's on the mend and no longer breathing like she was, thanks all 🥰
