Ear drainage with grommets

My 16 month old had grommets put in and adenoids removed 3 months ago. 8 days ago he started with thick discharge from the one ear which is now turned to yellow liquid like. He was prescribed oral antibiotics and antibiotic ciloxin ear drops but the drainage is still there. We have an ent appointment next week.

Has anyone experienced drainage for this long ?

Yes my DS had / has this. He has drops prescribed by the ENT which get rid of it: antibiotics have never made a difference. We’re looking into grommets as a possibility.

@Rainyspringflowers do you recall what drop you were given. We are using ciloxin drops but it's not making much difference

I’ve attached a photo: hope it is helpful! We’ve never found anything else works, sometimes gunk just POURS out

No he didn't cry. It took a while but eventually cleared up after the flushed his ears out and I gave the drops.
