Hi,
my 9 year old recently was admitted to local hospital with a high temp, all over body rash, vomiting and joint pain. CRP was 117 and went up to 189 which then declined after 7 days of IV antibiotics. The rash has subsided and left her with awful dry skin.
we are home now and she is still really struggling with joint pain in shoulders, ankles, hips and knees. I have noticed that she has a little lumph node swollen in her armpit today. Sometimes the pain is so bad she struggles to walk or get out of bed. She is still having to take naproxen to help her manage the pain. We have no idea what has happened to her or if this is a long term thing. Hoping to see a rheumatologist this week but not holding out much hope for answers.
thank you

Could it be measles? Poor thing, hope she's feeling better soon

Did they run blood culture tests? Like for Strep? There are various post-strep inflammatory illnesses that can cause rashes and joint pain, like reactive arthritis. Generally the condition resolves itself.

I only know about these conditions as I did a lot of reading after DD had Strep A and resulting complications.
