Asthma anxiety

Does anyone else feel like people don’t take asthma seriously? My child is 4 and has had asthma attacks several times a year since he was diagnosed aged 2… his triggers are mostly changes in weather like storms and heatwaves and viral infections like the cold. This had led to me having time off work due to needing to take him to hospital and I feel like people don’t believe me that it is due to asthma and that asthma is a serious condition

I think people perhaps just need education on asthma. Maybe tell them this:

Asthma attacks kill three people in the UK each day and every 10 seconds someone has a potentially life-threatening asthma attack.

I could've written this. My DD is also 4 and had multiple attacks and hospital admissions. Her main triggers are colds, weather changes and dogs. It's like people think I'm mad when I say that a dog jumping up at her in a park can trigger an asthma attack and put her in hospital! Definitely more education needed.
