Repeat bloods

Hello,

My DD 14 has been struggling with mental and physical health. Had bloods - they have asked for a repeat of vit b12 levels but we cannot get a Peadiatric blood test appointment until 15th April. If she was 16 we could have a walk in appointment. Our GP surgery doesn’t take minors bloods so we have to book in a blood test for Peadiatric team at local hospital.

They won’t tell me if the level was too low or high. Just that they need another one to compare. This seems such a long wait whilst I am so worried about her. I was wondering if there is any way we can get the blood test privately? I have had a Google but could only find online kits for over 16’s.

Thank you.

Im not sure if it's different because she's a child, but are you able to see her blood results on the NHS app?

Biscuitsgalore18 · 04/04/2024 17:48

Thank you for your reply. I don’t have access to an account for her, GP has never given me one. When I go on mine though it’s very minimal, cannot see results for my hormone bloods etc.

I will ring them tomorrow and ask if I can have access to her NHS app account.

You can usually ask reception gor a print out of the recent results, I've done this quite a few times and never had an issue.

Ahh ok, the receptionist wouldn’t give me it over the phone so will try going in and asking for the print out. Thank you.
