Hi all,
Wondering if I'm being overly anxious or not. My DD 3 1/2 years old woke on Wednesday (5 days ago) with a sore throat, vomiting and 40° temp. managed temp at home with calpol but visited the walk in centre 2 days after to be told she has a viral throat infection (inflamed ear and red/sore throat). Shes usually recovered from a fever within 2/3 days but this time the fever is still lingering. It's usually around 37.5°-37.8° during the day but for the last 2 days it's spiked to approx 38° in the evenings. Just worried it's been 6 days and the walk in nurse said it should have resolved itself in 5. Shes eating and drinking as normal but just concerned the temp still seems to be present in her body. Has anyone else experienced this? How long do viral infection lasts in 3 year olds or 4 year olds? Appreciate any responses.
