I’m posting this to try and keep my mind at ease. We are in A&E.
Ny DS 13 woke me up a few hours ago shaking with a temperature of 39.1 and complaining he has left sided groin pain. He showed me and everything looks normal but to be on the save side we have come to A&E. they said his reflex is normal so unlikely to be a resit but we I’ll to a ultrasound to be sure.

he’s normally well child I guess my many questions and hope it’s an infection. Rather than worst case scenario.
aside from everything hurting his groin hurts the most. I gave him paracetamol and ibuprofen before leaving the house. He’s very uncomfortable feeling sick and has pain in his hips knee and ankles.

Is it tender to touch, is there any lumpiness? I know there are glands in the groin ( and the belly and neck) which can become inflamed and painful when fighting an infection. This was my first thought when I read the title of your post.

Definitely worth checking out if he's still in so much discomfort having taken pain relief.

The inguinal lymph nodes are Locate in the groin, sorry of just about the creas where each leg joins in the body. In infection these are some of the main nodes ( asking with the underarms( which can inflame( they can be very painful and in you lie flat and have a press you can often feel nobbles beneath the skin. Aching, fever, lethargy the glands would seek and be painful in exactly the same way neck glands hurt if you have a sore throat. It's Is usually a virus that causess it. Can you get the t emp down?

He’s is so much discomfort and has just vomited too which was very red. The nurse was surprised when she came in to take the bowl away.

There’s no lumps as far as I know. He felt himself before leaving the house and told me if felt normal. He’s got belly ache too. He just can’t get comfortable
