Hi I just need any advice or reassurance as I'm going through a lot these past weeks and had to take things in my own hands, and I can't wait for these GP anymore my autistic three-year-old son, he is non-verbal since three weeks ago, he he came down with a viral infection as the doctor say he was very lethargic tummy aches vomited once no diarrhoea very sleepy things. Got a better few days later however, couple days ago things came back again is in a lot of pain sometimes with his tummy has up-and-down moods where he will have lots of energy and then out of nowhere no energy at all I've contacted the GP many times where they just kept rushing me off and saying I have to wait until things calm down. Maybe a month as a mum I just feel like there's something wrong I could be wrong but I don't know so I've booked a private ultrasound scan and blood test, just to rule out anything which is in two weeks. I'm just really worried.

Also, he hasn't been eating like he was before he has days where he will eat a lot and then days when he's refusing food like today. Food made his tummy hurts so he was refusing everything I had to stop him from nursery. The only thing that comes his tummy down his Calpol or Nurofen.

Weirdly this was tonsillitis symptoms for my LO and they couldn't tell me to look at their throat. So hard when they can't explain. Stick with getting proper medical advice rather than Internet advice. Hope he gets well soon xx

I don't want to scare you, but my mildly autistic son had appendicitis at 11, with similar symptoms/response. It was bursting by the time they operated - the surgeon thought he was faking it, but my friend could see it was serious.
Auties aren't as good at acting as neurotypicals.

It could be secondary milk intolerance on the back of the original bug. It's not uncommon for the stomach to be more sensitive after illness.

My daughter often complains of tummy ache when her reflux gets unmanaged.
