Hey fellow mums. I'm at my wits end with my little girl. Can I just share some symptoms I'm experiencing with my 4 week old daughter. I'm a first time mum and just breaking my heart watching her in such discomfort all day. She's had the following symptoms since I left the hospital and midwife/ HV seem to just say it's 'normal' and all babies have it. FF baby.
In hospital she was on Kendamil original disposables I then switched to the formula when I got home a few days later. She began to show signs of discomfort pretty much as soon as we got home from hospital. I changed her to Hipp organic on the 17th of March but to no significant difference- I'm sure her reflux is worse.
Her symptoms-
â—¦ Legs to chest
â—¦ Straightening back
â—¦ Grunting
â—¦ Straining to pass wind & poo & crying
â—¦ Hiccuping
â—¦ Seems to be in discomfort with belly
â—¦ Refluxy and sometimes cries and pulls back whilst feeding
â—¦ Other times screams whilst feeding and tries to suckle/ eat hands and then screams upon re introducing the bottle
◦ won’t take bottle & works herself up and ends up falling asleep after being comforted
â—¦ Coughs & chokes mid feed most feeds
◦ Doesn’t self soothe on own has to be on us to fall asleep
â—¦ Wakes herself up with straining, sick, coughing,
â—¦ Falls asleep sometimes during feeds due to needing to take breaks when she strains as she chokes or whilst burping, need to lay her down as only thing that wakes her up but laying her down brings on the hiccups and reflux which unsettles her and makes her cry
Tried Infacol, dentinox, recently gripe water and even carobel for the reflux but this gave her constipation.
I moved in with my partner so had to get a new doctors and have been in the process of registering baby (doctors are a bit naff I have an appointment tomorrow but scared they are going to fob me off)
Does anyone have any sort of advice?
Thank you in advance!
