Pectus excavatum

I'm just wondering if anyone had any experience getting pectus excavatum for their baby diagnosed? My baby boys (9 months old) chest dips around his sternum area, worse when coughing, hiccuping etc. doesn't bother him at all. We went to see the GP in December who advised they think it's still just soft cartilage & should settle. Moving onto now it's still the same, maybe even a bit more profound. I've booked him to see the GP again this coming Monday for them to have a look however with him still being so young I'm kind of expecting to be told the same thing. I was just curious if anyone's little ones had it diagnosed at a young age? Did they do a chest XR or just told you there & then? Or any other investigation? I know there's nothing that they can really do about it & it's more concerning to look at than it actually is (in most cases) however just want to put my mind at rest about it & ensure it's nothing else!

DS is 12 and has pectus excavatum. It does affect him a little bit but his is part of a wider picture. I don't actually remember an official diagnosis of PE. It was probably noted by rheumatology when exploring a wider diagnosis.

My gp said it in passing at the 2 week check. I said yep I know, my older son has it and my brother in law. They see it more of an aesthetic thing than a medical thing.
