hello,
I’ve just collected my daughter from school, she’s been on a school trip to Paris this week!
she’s shown me her ankles and said it appeared last night after lots of walking! What could it be? It appears very swollen

No I haven’t but I’ll mention tomorrow 😊

So around her bruise now and her calf’s are still swollen and sore, she’s developed a blue tinge around the bruise this was after exercise today so I’ll call the drs but they make me
feel like I’m wasting their time 🙄

Not sure about the bruising but your first pictures look like exercise induced vasculitis (often called Disney rash)

Ohh thank you! The bruises appeared after her shins were painful and swollen and wandered if the two were linked! Thank you ill look into that!

Hi, but if an update. Today we’ve finally seen a dr who’s listened. She was very thorough and we now have to do water and blood tests asap, she’s booked us in for Monday.
she said it’s very unusual in a child of DD age who’s also very healthy and active. The shins still swell up and turn purple. Usually worse after exercise. They’re painful too so hopefully we will get some answers 😊

missed call from the drs again this evening but missed it due to being at work. She said she’ll call back Tuesday.

swollen! Back on the phone to doctor’s this morning!

Oh my goodness. This has been going on for ages. Any progress this morning?

I’m seeing the Gp who saw her and referred her for her blood tests on Friday. She’s only part time and I don’t really want to see any other Gp as she was so helpful x

Bit of an update because I mentioned my DD was drinking a lot, she had a finger prick test at drs which said she was 6.9 she called a paediatrician at local hospital and they said we had to repeat in A&E last night with urine sample, the finger prick test showed her levels had dropped to 5.4 and the urine showed no glucose. The reasoning behind it was because she’s very active and trains a lot plus plays football 2/3 times a week, she said can cause lower readings on someone so active so she wanted to be cautious?
im guessing this rules out diabetes unless she requires DD to have a fasting blood test!
she’s also been referred to a paediatrician now as it’s spread to her feet, it’s like she had very poor circulation. GP said although waiting times are long if I don’t hear anything from paediatricians within a month or so to give her a call and she will chase it up!
GP was very honest and said she’s completely miffed and has no idea what’s wrong with her x
