Constant fevers during winter

Hi DS is 22 months and since mid Jan, he has had 3 illnesses with temperatures. The first one lasted 12 days and it was awful and finally diagnosed as flu. He then was fever free for 10 days then got another temperature with cough and cold which lasted 36 hours. Now today 19 days later he again has another temp (38.5) he is currently asleep but his older brother 5 has a hacking cold so I'm assuming he has just caught another virus but is this normal? I've never had this many illnesses with temperatures in such short succession with my eldest. Anyone else experience this during winter? I'm exhausted and constantly worried about him.

My DD is 20 months and has had 5 illnesses with fevers (3-5 days each time) since October, some of them quite close together and it’s been awful. She had a febrile convulsion during the 2nd one which further upped my anxiety every time she has a new fever.

Thanks that's really reassuring to know I'm not the only one. Honestly the worry is hard though!

Yep, sounds the same as my house atm. Nearly every child I know has a cough and tbf, every adult too. Wishing little one better soon x

You’re not alone. Why does a temperature come with all illnesses at the moment 😢

We got another temp only 4 days after the last! Is this even normal?? I've never known so many temperatures. It lasted 5 days and now my eldest has a temperature! I just hope it's the same thing as my youngest otherwise I'm dreading my youngest getting it again! But 4 days between temperatures and with no other symptoms!

@Fightingtobepositive do yours always have symptoms with temperatures? Mine usually do but not this time, this winter has been different and they have had temperatures without coughs, colds or other symptoms!

@Aklein38 a temp with no obvious symptoms, yes he has and been low and not right but not the obvious things showing it’s so bizarre isn’t it.
I have so much anxiety when he gets unwell. Especially when I see a temp 😢
