Chickenpox or something else

Hi all,

I noticed a couple of spots on my 2 year old yesterday evening (couple on back, couple on belly) and today he’s had a few more come up.. so a couple on arm, a couple on his head.
Hes not been eating as well as usual but not too bad so far.. he’s also had a few weird nappies (softer and more yellow than usual) but has had hands in mouth a lot so think he may be gutting second molars too..

can I ask do these look like chickenpox?

what day with chickenpox is the worst please?
his dad is away all weekend, so I’m not able to catch a break if needed so I’m praying it’s mild if it is chickenpox!

Yes it looks like chickenpox.

It's hugely variable as to which day is worst - they keep coming up for a few days but it does depend on each child as to how they cope with it.

Oats in sock in bath/ send someone to pharmacist for supplies.

No ibuprofen.

@hagchic thank you for your reply.
luckily I have calamine lotion, virasoothe and piriton as I thought he had chickenpox before but I’m 99% sure it was HF&M.
so this today was technically day 2? Or 1? I first noticed the spots yesterday around 6pm. Unsure when they came up as he was at nursery all day.

he’s been so happy in himself today, laughing with me loads so hopefully he stays feeling okay! I was always told that I’d know within 24 hours of noticing a spot that it’s chickenpox as loads will appear.. that certainly was the case with hf&m.. and sleepless nights my gosh! But it seems a slow process this time with only a few spots appearing over a 24 hour period.

Will see how he goes over the next few days I guess! Thank you for your comment.
