Possible broken finger

15yo dd hurt her finger in basketball last week. Is the top part below her nail. It’s swollen and she says it hurts.

Wwyd? Get ready for a very long a and e wait or keep strapping it to the next one and see what happens?

Ds broke his finger once and they strapped it to the next one for a few weeks.

Dd does have the tendency to over exaggerate things which is why I’m reluctant. And, the stretch on an and es at the moment I’m just not sure.

Are walk in clinics just as busy?

Can you look up the wait times in your area? For example: https://www.cornwallft.nhs.uk/miu-waiting-times/

At the moment I'd head to the one with the shortest queues rather than necessarily my closest!

Check the one you head to has open xray facilities.

Minor Injuries for us with a teenager's broken finger. In and out within 2 hours, including x-ray and strapping. Definitely take her.

Thank you both. I didn’t know you could check the wait times.

I’ll have another look when she gets home and will take her somewhere tomorrow first thing x
