Purple lips and hands?

Has anyone experienced anything similar?

20 month old has started to get purple lips and hands. His fingers turn purple and his hands go gray. It sometimes affects his feet but not as often as lips and hands.

His not was really purple after he was born for month's. The health visitors said it's normal due to immature circulation. Due to his complexion it isn't always obvious.

The Dr said he will grow out of it but then called me back to say his changed his mind and has booked him in to have a heart scan next week. My minds going into overdrive now so I guess I'm looking for similar stories and outcomes. Is this heart related or immature circulation?

I have another child with a heart condition but it's not genetic. He never had purple lips .

Lips count as peripheral circulation, like hands and feet. Next time it happens, look at his tongue. If his tongue is nice a pink, the odds of anything worrying going on are minimal. If his tongue is purple, however, get him checked out again and tell them that.
