I'm being sent round in a circle at the moment by the gp and continence clinic with my son 8yo.
A little back history:
Son has autism, severe hypermobility and also awaiting adhd assessment. He suffers with faitgue, tiredness, painful joints, recurrent mouth ulcers (every few weeks, 3 or 4 at once time), eczema on his face (more so in the summer), suffers with croup several times a year, panic attacks at school and has also been anaemic (very shocked as he eats really well).
My son has been under the continence clinic for a good few years for day and night wetting. The day wetting improved but night wetting continued. We tried all sort of options; alarms and now he is on mediation (desmopressin).
Since August 2022 he has been on and off day wetting, he has spells where it gets worse, we send a urine sample in which always has blood ++ in his urine. It is sent to labs, no signs of infection apart from the blood,
Since Christmas 2023, he has had so many wet days (upto 10 changes a day). We have 3 sent urine samples, one came back with an infection with blood ++ and the other two just blood ++.
Gp is refusing to look into things more, continence have said GP needs to do the referral. The continence nurse feels something more is going on. I have done 3 econsult this week and just receive a text each time saying that the urine results came back with no infection but blood in urine, speak to continence clinic.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this. Im wondering if I need to put a complaint into the gp (sorry for the long rambling post!)
