Can anyone help decipher these results?

My son has been ill for months...really tired (literally crying as soon as he wakes up)...recurrent bugs/fevers, bruises. He's had 2 types of iron supplements but they are so strong and taste horrendous...he struggles but I manage to force him to take or I hide them in a smoothie etc...

I'm struggling to see any improvement and the GP can't seem to tell me if his results have improved since his first bloods. Honestly they are useless! I'm taking him to see a private paeds consultant but can anyone help me understand his last set of results re anaemia?

Can anyone help decipher these results?

Have you asked the GP directly if the anaemia has improved, or got worse? If they have previous results, they should be able to tell you easily from those results. Either they need to explain what's here, or they should ask an advice and guidance to haematology and then retest in a few months.

No one on Mumsnet should be interpreting these, as they don't know the history, or the family history etc. You should speak again to your GP, or change GP if yours can't explain these. A GP would understand these.

The GP literally shrugged and can't tell me. Yhis is why they've just sent then to me on email. However the results of the 1st test are laid out completely different and hard for me to compare the two. I guess that's why she can't answer my question herself, but honestly I despair.

In fact, looking at it now...the 1st test I can only see Blood sugar (hbA1c) and Vit D tests, so they didn't even do what they said when I was worrying about cancer...utterly livid now tbh

You need to speak to your GP. Why has he been on iron? Who prescribed it? Go back to them.

Well GP gave iron as they said he was deficient. I will go back but have now also got a paeds consultant appt as I need to get this sorted and investigated properly.
