DH and I having a disagreement.

DS 3 has had calpol at

6pm yesterday
11pm yesterday
3am today
12:30pm today

DH is saying he can have another dose at 6pm, I'm saying this is wrong as this would be 5 doses. Are we being thick or are we being thick?

Give it to him at 6.15pm and you'd count it in the 2nd 24 hours.

Of course 🤦‍♀️ Baby brain and sleep deprivation is making me question my intelligence at the moment. Thank you!

Look at it this way: a day only has 6pm in it once. So by definition the second 6pm is in a new 24-hour period.

hi, I’m a nurse and when I worked on the wards we would always calculate doses from midnight. So thats what I do for my little girl.
I would say that they can have another dose x

KC1234 · 16/02/2024 17:22

Sorry if that wasn’t clear. I mean you can give 4 doses midnight - midnight x

FacingTheWall · 16/02/2024 17:23

DH is right. 6pm is the start of the next 24hrs.

BertieBotts · 16/02/2024 18:28

Yes I think that's fine.

If you are worried you can always swap over to children's ibuprofen.

Thank you everyone Smile
