My daughter fractured her collarbone while skiing on Monday; she was given a sling, recommendation of ice and painkillers and see the dr when back home; We are back home now but GP said to go to A&E. managed to get her another x-ray and was asked to queue in A&E to see a dr. It was supper busy and couldn’t even registered her as noone available at reception so just returned home.

does she need to see a dr? Can we just wait until it heals? When can she go back to school; the sling seems a bit rubbish. she is having pain killers, ice.

You really need to go back as she’ll
need a follow up at fracture clinic for another x ray to check it’s healing.

Yep. A &E and then fracture clinic

Nobody with any sense is going to contradict what your GP said.

Thank you all. Why can I not get a referral to the Fracture clinic from the GP? Last time my oldest daughter fractured a toe the dr gave us a letter and we went straight to the Fracture clinic. We didn’t have to queue 2 hours for an x-ray and then another 3 to 4 in A&E to be referred to Fracture clinic.

The dr that referred us last time just retired so we only saw a nurse practitioner who referred us to the x-ray
