Teenager unwell

My teenage daughter is due to go on a school trip abroad with high school today but is unwell with a high temp and feels dizzy. Would you send them?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

How high is the temperature?

What time do they leave? Is there time to give her paracetamol and see how she is?

If she's leaving school at 9 but not actually leaving the country till 12 I'd be tempted to send her but be prepared to pick just up
From Dover or wherever

Very very tricky. Objectively no. Not with a temp. She could be a huge burden to the helpers and makes lots of other people sick.

Mydog123 · 15/02/2024 06:50

It was 39 last night and is 37.6 today. But I have a feeling it will spike again.

What was she like yesterday? Has she been coming down with something?

Mydog123 · 15/02/2024 06:54

She started to feel unwell last night. Would it be worth getting a doctors appointment?

I'm not sure I would, and they may refuse to take her anyway. Where is the trip leaving from and going to? I'd consider dropping her off later if I could.

WhoopWhoopNow · 15/02/2024 07:15

No, I wouldn’t send her. Imagine being so ill and having to travel yourself, it would feel horrible when you just need to be tucked up in bed/on the sofa.
Imagine her spreading it to all the classmates too-it would be a nightmare for the chaperones.

3luckystars · 15/02/2024 07:18

No I wouldn’t as you need to keep an eye on her.

Sunnnybunny72 · 15/02/2024 07:19

I wouldn't send and I wouldn't be seeing the doctor yet either.
Just treat the symptoms.

brightpompoms · 15/02/2024 07:23

What does your daughter want to do? How old is she?

Beahappy82 · 15/02/2024 07:26

Oh no that's such unlucky timing....

Temp does seem quite high. Can you contact the school ASAP for advice?

BigDogEnergy · 15/02/2024 07:27

No. By the time they get there she'll have given it to half the coach.

caringcarer · 15/02/2024 08:28

No, do you have travel insurance for her?

TenThousandSpoons · 15/02/2024 08:30

No I wouldn’t send her if it was 39 last night. What rubbish timing 😣

Let us know how it goes OP
