Hi y’all my youngest has literally gotten out of bed crying to me barely breathing saying her chest really hurts and it’s tightening she has asmtha so I’m a bit concerned. Then I looked and it was all red and swollen and it’s apparently doing this weird folding thing when it feels really painful! I’m not sure what to do because she can’t stop screaming and crying do I ring 111 because she’s in so much pain and this hasn’t happened before.

Thx guys!! I gave her the inhaler quickly to see if it helpled and she said it was calming down a bit but still hurts I decided that she want crying and screaming so I thought the pain was ok so she then stayed sat next to me to see if it went away. It didn’t but she felt a bit better than she originally did and went back up to bed. This morning she says it’s still hurting. She hasn’t been well lately since the start of the Xmas holidays x

I did take her to a&e and they ran a few tests and said it was a chest infection and was lucky we came as she’s been coughing for a long time. They said Chest infections should only last a week but they reckon she’s probably had it from the end of december because she’s been coughing a lot and feeling ill
