Start of a cold core?

Opinion please. Just wondering if you mums think that this could be a start of a cold sore? I have a feeling that it is…I recently had one two weeks ago but I have treating myself with cream and it has completely healed. Been avoiding kissing my son and husband but I’ve suddenly noticed my son’s lips all swollen up and something like a blister on his lips. Should I take him to nursery tomorrow? I’ve been told that children with cold sores can still attend school and nursery.

I thought you could only get them if you had the virus as in my mum gets them and us children all get them because it's in our Blood I didn't think you could pass them on to a non-carrier?

@babasaclover You can pass it on by contact. So don't kiss anyone when there's an outbreak, especially with new borns (very very dangerous).

And it's not by default passing in blood. Your children don't have it at birth without direct contact to the infected area.

OP, I've never heard nursery or school said anything about cold sore and NHS website explicitly says no need to keep out of school for this.

Cold sores
There's no need to keep your child off school if they have a cold sore.

Encourage them not to touch the blister or kiss anyone while they have the cold sore, or to share things like cups and towels.
