Toddlers fingernail is lifting

Just noticed my 3yr olds fingernail is lifting from the bed. He had an small accident about a month ago shutting it in a door, and have kept an eye on it - seemed to be healing well until now, conflicting advise online whether to take him to the Drs to get it possibly pulled or to leave it and pray like hell that he doesn't catch it on something. He's fine and not in any pain but did wince slightly when I tried to put a plaster on it.

Would really appreciate advise from someone who's had a similar situation, TIA

My DS had this when he ripped his toenail up when getting his toe caught under a door. A new nail did grow underneath. Can you go to see a pharmacist? Also, check to see if there is a mail growing underneath.

I definitely wouldn't take him to get it pulled, absolutely unnecessary. It will probably be a new nail growing underneath and he will lose this one. Happened to my daughter, as it got lifted more and more we put a plaster on her finger to avoid catching it.

Happened to my DS when he got his finger trapped in a door. The nail eventually fell off and there was a new nail underneath
