Dd vision problems?

Basically dd (10) has been saying that the screen they have in class is very bright and when she copies from the board and writes in her book (which has yellow undertones to help with the children's writing) and that the words seem to merge together on the board and her eyes water and it all seems blurry. She doesn't have this issue with reading normal books/writing or using her phone, tablet, etc so I don't feel like it's actually a vision problem but it's also quite strange and I was wondering if anybody has had any experience with this? Her teacher said she is the only one complaining of this problem. I must add she has asked to be moved to sit closer to her friends at the back so I don't believe she's making this up but I'm not quite sure if it's 100% happening. I'm taking her to the opticians next week but not quite sure what to make of it!

Has she been having regular eye tests? Children can have a free eye test annually and they will pick up issues before they become a major problem

She was seen a year ago and they said they didn't want to see her for two years which is due around now

My kids didn't go to every 2 years until they were 16. Maybe it's different in Scotland.

No harm getting her checked out

Sounds as if she’s just a little short-sighted (myopia). Myopia makes things in the distance blurry, but things close too are clear.
The opticians will be able to sort it out when you see them next week.
