Viral induced wheeze

So my DS who is 16 months has been diagnosed with a viral induced wheeze and has a blue inhaler for when he gets it however, he gets it every single month now and its been this way for the last 8 months!
It makes his breathing terrible where he sucks in at the ribs and throat and sounds so chesty/wheezy and a horrid cough. It lasts about a week.

When it first happened the hospital said it was bronchiolitis and viral induced wheeze. The GP now goes along with it being a viral wheeze every time we take him.

Has anyone elses little ones had it to this extent? Seems like he cant catch a break bless him

Would they give him a trial of a steroid inhaler ?

Hey! Yes my nearly 2 year old has been bad since she was born. Day 11 she had bronchiolitis and was admitted for 2 nights. Every cough and cold affects her chest badly. She has the brown inhaler and blue but at the moment it's constant.
