Urine infection in toddler?

I'm a bit confused about what's wrong with DD (she's 2). On Friday she vomited 3 times, she had a fever and was lethargic. I assumed it was a sickness bug, she sipped water through the day and has been eating a little bit on and off.

Today she complains that her tummy and bottom hurt and keeps crying asking for me to change her nappy. She hasn't had a bowel movement since Thursday evening so we assumed she might be constipated and have been giving prune juice.

However earlier she got really upset that it was hurting when she was doing a wee and was holding on to her front so I'm now thinking it could be a urine infection?

Would the vomiting on Friday be linked? Or could drinking/eating less for a day have caused the infection?

I will make a GP appointment in the morning, but do you think its OK to wait until tomorrow? How will we test her? (she won't do a wee on the potty)

They will give antibiotics on the symptoms you describe.
Check her poo for worms, when she goes.

Thank you.

I did wonder about worms. As gross as they are I'd rather she had that than an infection. She's not been having any symptoms in the night though, she's been sleeping quite peacefully.

I currently have strep throat which was passed on by eldest DD so I was starting to think that was the cause of her fever/vomiting too but those new symptoms are throwing me off today. She probably has a few things going on at the same time bless her.
