11mo with one month diarrhoea

Need advice please.

Our son has had diarrhoea since 2 Jan. It has never been formed stool. Just watery stuff that soaks into the nappy and some dried remnants. We’ve gone from 2 dirty nappies a day to 12-14 at the worst and now down to 6-8 a day.

He’s otherwise well. Not been vomiting or fever. Running around playing as usual and feeding as normal. We haven’t changed or or introduced anything that would trigger the diarrhoea.

Went to GP who said it was viral gastroenteritis. I’d have thought any viral infections would have cleared up by now.

is there anything we can do to help with the diarrhoea?

How long ago did you see the GP?

We went after two weeks, and again this week (after four weeks). Told it was viral both times.

This happened to my son after gastro and we went lactose free and honestly it cleared up within 48h! The GP said that after a bug, the stomach lining can take a hammering and find lactose hard to digest.

worth a try?
