Smelly bottom even when fresh out the bath

5 yo ds is globally delayed and still in nappies. He gets cleaned with wipes at every nappy change and a nightly bath. Tonight as I went to dress him after a bath I noticed his bum smelled. Not like poo, like a fusty smell? I'm worried he might have a fungal infection or something - is this likely? What else cpuld cause it?

Try using a dry cloth or loo roll to dry his bottom after wiping. It could be a dampness issue. If it persists, speak to a chemist- they're usually good with smells and skin things!

Is there a chance that the towel used to dry him after the bath might be transferring the musty smell? Sometimes we accidentally leave the wet washing in the washing machine for too long and it all smells musty

Not from the towel, it was definitely his bum. Good idea about speaking to the pharmacist, thank you
